Opening a dwg file from another appl

Hello

I'm new to this forum and I'm starting with DraftSight.

I use Autocketch 2.1. I'm looking to import my drawings that are in DSK originally, on DraftSight. Of course, for this I do, on autosketc, an export in DWG.

I'm opening this file on DraftSight. At first glance it seems fine, apart from a few text corrections. Only for a drawing originally in A4, the reading on DS does not match. I followed this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WcPIgUgDsU, but if I manage to manipulate (difficult) to correct on Sheet1, when printed, it does not correspond to the display of my sheet.

Thank you in advance for your help

Hello Stent,

Could you go into a little more detail about your problem (images, ...)

Thank you Cyrille,

Yes of course. I will put it another way:

I imported correctly  (it seems to me) in Dwg. On the "model" sheet, I have my drawing displayed.

It fits into a rectangle of x:195.9 and Y 285.6. After a few touch-ups on the texts that did not follow the conversion well, it seems to me ready for the presentation in the feuille_1.

The print manager opens and I choose A4 PDFCreator. I have as information: Size and orientation 210x297 ( Portrait )

However, when displayed, on this sheet-1 I control X: 8.39 and Y 5.62 for the outer frame displayed in Landscape. My drawing inside this frame is 3.79 x and 5.47 Y. Of course, if I make a request for printing, it is these last dimensions that are taken into account.

I hope I have been clear, although clarity is not one of my qualities!

Whew! I did it. In fact I don't really know how. I have to start the process several times. To understand well.

I went to Edit/Properties and changed the scale by trial and error. There are surely better things to do, then "print" you have to select select all the geometry.

I don't have the right method.

I don't know if it can help you but in the "Range" category of the print window of the model you specify the area to print with a rectangle. Then you adjust the scale, maybe "print in the center of the sheet" if it suits you. Normally you should have a satisfactory result.

Cyrille, thank you. We don't have quite the same version because for me it doesn't look the same. However, you put me on the right track.

Here's the method I ended up finding:

From the "Template" sheet I do file/print. there, in the window that opens I order the manual configuration, then I define my printer, the A4 paper size, orientation wore, I click on the "Secify" button. the window closes to return to the display of my "Model" around which I draw a rectangle. the display automatically returns to the "Print Template" window And I validate "Fit to sheet". Very satisfying result!

Once again, a big thank you Cyrille

Kind regards
