In 2014, after 'Smarting' the parts or assemblies, we found under Windows Explorer --> Right Click --> Properties, the Customize tab in which the custom properties that the Smart had created appeared.
In 2017, we do not find the Customize tab.
A part created and Smarted in SW 2014 has the Customize tab in the Windows Explorer properties. After opening and saving in SW 2017, the tab disappears.
This is because in SolidWorks Explorer, properties are visible.
The advantage we had before is that when they are visible from Windows Explorer, we could manipulate them with an Excel VBA macro to do bulk processing (Batch or Smart type) through a DSO.
Is it possible to find them in Windows Explorer? Or is it possible to do a processing through SolidWorks Explorer without opening the files?
That's the problem... I no longer have access to it with Excel and the DSO.
I noticed that if the properties are not visible in Windows Explorer, then they are not accessible from Excel.
There is a difference between 2017 and 2014 that I cannot explain. It seems that SW 2017 does not create files that are compatible with Microsoft's OLE standard.
Is there a function in the SolidWorks VBA to access properties without opening files?
