We had this kind of problem, and in the end it turned out to be
that in Excell's configuration there were defined values that were not compatible with SolidWorks
For our part, we have set the default values of excell
Then afterwards we were able to use Excell again with Solidworks,
Both for the families of rooms and for the insertions in the drawings

Thanks for your help, in the end it was a 32bit version that was causing problems. We had to dig into the office pack to find the 64bit! (it's not indicated but the setup at the top of the directory is 32)
