Passage WIndows11

Hello everyone
I'm working with SolidWorks 2023 SP3.0...
and my PC asks me to switch to Windows 11 every 5 minutes...
Can I upgrade to Windows 11 without any problems and keep my version of SolidWorks???
Thank you

Solidworks 2023 is compatible with Windows 11 (as of the 2022 sp2 to be exact).
For the conservation of SW, I would say yes, without being able to say so.
At worst you back up your SW profile before on a usb key and if there is a problem, reinstall SW and restore your profile.

OK...
I'll make a backup copy before... and I'll try to get through...
Thank you

Hello
Pay attention to other software installed on your PC.
Personally, I have non-accounting programming software.

Also check that the manufacturer of your graphics card offers a driver that is compatible with Windows 11 and SolidWorks 2023.

Hello

You're brave to wipe the plaster on an SP3.0 ...
Since our last try, we will only use sp 5.0 (or even wait for the .1 or .2 if it ever comes out)

ditto the SP05 is that or nothing else
Also remember to save the model file folders and the library. (the easiest way is to have a company folder with everything in it and not in the SW folders)

Hello;

Otherwise there is still the possibility to disable Windows notifications... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

+1 Pay attention to the compatibility of your graphics card with this new OS.
+1 for saving Solidworks settings.
+1 for software (and hardware) compatibility check
-1 for SP3.0
+1 for various and varied backups (be careful, we always forget at least one...)

Be careful of possible compatibilities if your data is on an external server.

If you are still upgrading to Windows 11 (yuck), check if it is necessary to "release" your current Solidworks license number, to be able to re-install it in its new environment (I think so.).
If you uninstall Solidworks, purge your registry and hard drive of all traces of your old installation. (Before re-installing Solidworks of course.)

Subsidiary question: are you on a laptop or on a good old desktop PC?

Kind regards.

Hello

I had the transition from windows 10 to windwos 11 (the system decided to update it automatically without asking me),
But on my side I didn't have any problems
I have a solidworks version of 2016 SP0
But as a precaution I migrated it to a windows 7 / 8 cores afterwards

But be careful, because I don't know what you have as a pc, but it could be that it does the same thing as at home, so be careful

Thank you all for these tips...
I'm working on an HP Z4 workstation and Nvidia P2000 quadro...

I'm going to finish my study in progress... and then we'll see about this passage...

Thank you again and have a good day to you...
