Hi all
One of our customers provided us with a file with the nwd extension from the AUTODESK NavisWorks software.
Is there a possibility to open a *.nwd file with SolidWorks?
Thank you in advance for your answers

Hello Le-bidule,
I have nothing else to offer you, but try this one.

Kind regards.

Hello
thank you, but, I should have specified it in my request, I'm not looking for a viewer (Autodesk offers one for free) but rather a plugin that will allow me to open it with SW, and therefore to be able to make modifications, measure, extract elements, etc...
In any case thank you again
Have a nice day

Hello
Is your file a 3d or 2d? Can you share your nwd file?
At first glance, I don't think that the "BIM" features are specially recognized by SW.
Depending on whether or not he or she is called upon to run again:
- install a trial version to hope to find an export format (apparently SW recognizes the IFC format);
- if it works and it needs to be made permanent, Autodesk has interesting rental formulas for use on a case-by-case basis;
Thank you
A ac cobra 427 - It's 3D, I can't share my file - confidentiality obliges - but I put in PC a restricted view of the project.
A stefbeno - thanks for the research trail
We are at the stage of costing the file, we will inquire with AUTODESK for a rental
Have a nice day
I've already imported 3D dwg/dxf; you can ask them to send you this type of file because native AUTODESK file then you just have to do file==>open then select the file type then import into a new part as 3D curves or model.
@ac cobra 427: unfortunately not necessarily that simple. I had the problem with a Revit file (so Autodesk galaxy), no way to recover anything even with Inventor. Revit did not allow export in a usable format; Or, to be precise, when the format was proposed, I let a machine run for 12 hours without result (I stopped the manipulation).
