Here I have in my schedule a meeting to define what new computer they buy for the technical service.
Objective, branded computers with a minimum 3-year warranty
non-onerous
AND: powerful enough without being a workstation for the use of eDrawing without having problems with sacade when viewing 3D models larger than 5000 parts.
A gaming desktop PC with catre video fx gives better results than a quadro for eDrawing, all for half the price of a workstation.
Laptop the same (the MSI range for example)
We also observe the possibility of tablet tactil.
We know that for solidworks you need ram, ssd, 3Gh processor or more and a pro video card..... But for edrawing???? What is the best configuration?
It's not easy to find the right configuration for eDrawing, especially if you have a lot of parts in your assembly.
What we were doing (in my old company) was that the old workstations of the design office were recycled for the edrawing consultation terminals for assembly.
Despite everything, big assemblies under edrawing are not great. Instead, favor the visualization of smaller sub-assemblies.
Another idea, if you have 3DVIA, the best thing to do is to convert your SolidWorks assemblies to the 3DVIA format. With the (free) player on your mounting terminals, you will be able to visualize very large assemblies with uncomfortable ease.
@gt22 well I don't know if for edrawing a pro card is really necessary
there is nothing to justify it in short
We have better results with a gaming PC than with a mobile workstation
now for the processor management of the iPad you have to know that the management is really different especially in graphics or an Apple proc has 2gh has better results than a 3gh in pc
We had a meeting on the subject and I was informed of the reference of the cards used.... a quadro K600.... the basic model which beyond 30 pieces starts to pixelate (I have one so I know)
The subject was badly addressed because already in itself the machines are very weak graphically. I'm between 2 colleagues, a computer scientist who has the purse strings, and the DT who only talks about a gamer card (comparing a K600 with a gt 980)
So I'm going to show my toy (a simple K2000 with I7 and 16 GB) and see what they say about it.
The remote server is linked to a VNC protocol so no worries because it is a mirror of Russia in our premises.
The team viewer idea is interesting but if the receiving computer has a ridiculous graphics card it will have the same result.
yes being equipped with quadro 600 is the mini from mini for SW
for the Team viewer I'm not convinced of the need for a pro card since it won't be this card that will create but simply read your pc or the job this fact
since you take control remotely on a fixed station which does the job the Team viewer only copies what comes out of this screen and not the reconstruction work at least it seems to me
To analyze maybe
We imagine a very good station or server
with super graphics card or several and
proc that runs above 3.4Ghz
with SSD for solid and system
a good amount of memory with a large cache such as Ecc
during the year I got information that the graphics cards will make a considerable leap via a new process see the Lynkoa news among others my link in response to this said info ;-)
So for your purchases, plan a great PC + PC readers for users
after all, you can do it via screenshots or visual of the super station
