Pdf 3d

Hello

I dropped out of the previous question about printing to PDF, only to come back to a specific question about creating 3D PDFs.

So, as recommended by @Felix, I tried CrosManager in a trial version and indeed it meets my expectations, but I still have some problems with large assemblies (+ 1000 components), as well as later for taking measurements with Adobe. How do I define the scale and units of measurement?.

Thank you

Hello, concerning the measurements, I strongly advise not to use 3D pdfs (to my taste), which are not very handy in the rotation of your objects, the rendering is good but besides that, the maneuverability of the drawing and the measurements are not very perfect...

I advise you to opt for a free software such as Edrawing which provides you with a quality rendering a little worse than 3D pdfs but which are very good for taking measurements and are much more manageable.

Also, in this type of software, there are no scale issues to deal with, they keep the basic properties of your parts.

You can easily convert your drawings from Solidedge to Edrawing.

Afterwards, as I can't find your previous question, I'm not sure I meet your expectations.

Thank you.

The link to Adobe support (see Felix's answer) allowed me to solve my scaling problem:

--> When reading the pdf, you have to "right-click" on the image, choose "define model units" and then "Modify scale ratio". It seems that this adjustment is only valid for the file in question.

In response to Joss.G: To date I find that the creation of PDF3D files, as part of my job, is more convenient to communicate with other people who are rather familiar with Adobe. But I also have to try Edrawing

Friendly Greetings
