PDM Hard Drive Change and PC Name with Extracted Files

Hello

Here is my problem, at the level of the computer equipment of my BE there have been changes of hard drive with change of name of the computer.

However, there were files that were still extracted on these disks. The problem is that we are no longer able to "undo the archiving/archive" files, even in admin.

Is there a PDM tool or specific manipulation to be done to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Hello

To my knowledge the only way is to undo the extraction from another workstation than the one where the disk/name was changed with the admin account (additional right to any administrative profile that may have been defined later).

In the pre-orders of your info service, it would be good to make them aware of this problem and to make sure that everything is archived before making the slightest change to the workstations. Any extracted file is purely local and unknown to the server and is therefore lost in the event of a replacement. It is also important to have regular check-in rules (use version replacement functions to avoid uncontrolled expansion of the database)

Hello

Awareness has been raised several times, but we all know the "human" side of computer tools.

I managed to undo the extraction. Thank you

Hello

I add that personally I do a global search on the whole database with the argument only "view the extracted files"
So I send an email to users with the list of their files to archive
And this with each PDM change
