Can I change the configuration of a cup? SOLIDWORKS

Hi all

I'm in the process of drawing injection molds.

I made various configurations to be able to see on it, below, certain options,...

When I make a cut of a configuration, this section is automatically linked to this configuration.

Is there a solution to be able to make a section on a view and be independent of its configuration?

Thank you

I will say yes, by manually adding a new view with the desired configuration and applying a local cut to it (on the whole view or only a part of it).

@ PhilippeB, The goal is not to add a view outside the framework of the drawing, but to have a link between the cut view but with different configurations. In the properties of the cut view, everything related to the configs is grayed out.

Hello

To my knowledge, it is not possible without "cheating". SW relies on a view configuration to generate the section and the section view is necessarily linked to the cut model (including the configuration).

So it can't be independent. The only way would be to create sections via material removal in the assembly and to lay fictitious cut lines in the drawing.

There remains PhilippeB's solution which is a little less "tinkering" and if you don't want to have them out of the sheet, just hide the views without hiding the dependent views.

@Aliende: This solution does not add an out-of-frame view. The point of the "local cut" function is to have a cut view without depending on another view.

Indeed, I don't know of a solution that is not a hack.

Philippe B's method is the simplest but does not link to the position of the cut line, the hidden view solution involves having several views with the same name.

if, for a "local section" view, we can manage the depth by a geometry, i.e. a tempo axis, an edge, etc...

Otherwise the most promising thing is to create in the 3D a "gemographic axis" (to hide it according to the use of the level 1 and level 2 display filters)

Then in the MEP, select this axis as the end condition for the "local cut" (selection possible by displaying the temporary creation tree as a reminder)
