Photoview

Hello

Could someone tell me how to strengthen the shadows in photoview?

Let me explain, I use a background image on which I insert my 3D, I know that I can adjust the shadows in a parameter, but in the final rendering they are not as dark as the shadows of the photo, which causes a lack of realism.

Anyone know how to strengthen them?

Thank you

By adding a "spot" type light, isn't it enough?

Edit: The quality of the final rendering also counts "maximum, optimal etc.. "The higher the quality, the better the shadows will be represented

Do you have a printout of the final rendering?

I have similar problems but less pronounced since I calibrated my screen. My adjustments are more realistic now, because I noticed that the image made by photoview has the same problem as a print (like the blue on the screen which is not the one of the print).

As on my station which has solidworks I also have a graphics software, it was easier to calibrate. I don't know if there is independent software for that.

The graphics card may also be playing, because for the same model, between my old Quadro 600 and my current 2000 I noticed differences.

You can increase the power of your spot and or directional lights but also lower the ambient light.

Here is a quick test by playing only on the parameters mentioned.

I would also say to add a light (spot type for example). In the settings of your light, in the Photoview tab, you must of course remember to check the box "Enabled in PhotoView 360" and then you have to check the box "Shadows". This allows you to have access to the shadow settings: The radius for the "fade" around your shadow (sharp or blurred shadow) and the quality of the shadow.

Hello

Thank you for your answers.

Regarding the qualities, I've already put everything to the max, Bart.

I'm going to test the answer, freeman's answer to see when I'll have 5 minutes. Mr. Rabbid of the CAD forum it seems to me even ;-).

I attach a screen with on the right on the gratings the shadow of the photo and on the left on the concrete the shadow of my 3D.

Look at this link tutorial Lighting under Photoworks

create by @Paul Loury a master in the field of SW

http://www.forum-cao-3d.fr/solidworks-tutoriels/l-eclairage-sous-photoworks-t7162.html

if you put a directional + a spotlight in the right direction angle and height

I think you will be able to increase the black of your shadow to test

At 28 minutes he talks about the diffusion of the shadow

hoping to have given you some leads
