Polyline and curve-driven repetition

Hello

It seems to me that the subject has already been discussed but I did not understand the solution. So sorry for the repost.

How do you do the repetition of a body along a polyline? The sketch contains only one line which is composed of straight lines, arc of a circle, fillet at 45° etc.

I'd like to repeat a small rectangular body along this line.

Normally we do "curve-driven repetition" by selecting the sketch in the eat feature and not in the screen and with the spline the result is perfect but with a polyline error message. :(

Thank you for your help

Hello,

I'm sorry, I can't read the error message properly (it's really small on the image). But it's as if the lines of the polyline are not joined together

Hello

I think you have to edit the sketch of the polyline, then in Tools, Spline Tools, you have to use: Adjust the spline so that it forms only one segment, then, try to make the repeat again.

Have a nice day

You convert your plolyline into a 3D sketch

you will have more than 1 and only line ref

and you create your rehearsals on this sketch

Thank you Mick, that was right!

Edit the sketch / tools / spline tools / Adjust the spline (only possible choice) / then click on each line of the polyline and validate. Then, exit the sketch, start the curve-driven repeat, and when choosing the curve, click on the sketch name in the feature manager.

Thank you gt22, your solution works too! and it is even faster:)

(I didn't succeed on the first try though and as I had already validated Mick's solution I couldn't validate yours, .. DSL for your stats ;) )

Coin37coin: ok, I reposted an image with a larger error window.

@ Pa

not a big deal my stats ;-)

The important thing is that you have found an answer to your problem

at least you were able to compare the 2 walkthroughs

@+ ;-)
