Why when I save a . DRW in .PDF there is information that disappears?

Hi all

I have this problem as soon as I save the drawings I make on SolidWorks under .PDF. Indeed, as shown on the linked images, in the section of the cartouche at the bottom right, some information such as the address of the company or the plan number no longer appears on the PDF format... I tried a lot of tinkering (change the SolidWorks or Adobe settings, set them to default....) but in vain...

Here are the two images:

Anyone have a solution please?

Hello

We don't see your images. Can you repost them, please?

Hello

When you print it on paper, is it the same and have you changed your background to the background? If so, you may have enabled the defpoints layer if you have one.

Hello, so I don't know if it's the same problem I had a while ago but everything is back to normal. It may have been a little different but maybe there is also a link with your problem.

Let me explain, I created drawings in PDF, but our suppliers when they opened them only had half of the information on them (all the texts and quotes). My colleague could open them without data loss...

After multiple searches and information on forums that may have a link, I did  this:

Désisntaller toute sort d'abode reader.

Uninstall everything related and installed with the PDF creator.

Repair microsoft office (just seen on a formum).

A stroke of ccleaner.

Reinstalled adobe reader.

I didn't reinstall the PDF creator ...

And no more problems since...

CDT.

Hi all

To answer everyone: when I print it via solidworks it works but not from the pdf. But as I have to transfer the plans via email it is a problem because when the others open this PDF the information is indeed missing so I think it's Solidworks that is doing its job of modifying the format badly... And as far as the background text on the cartridge is concerned, everything is in "FORMAT" so it is abnormal that some texts are displayed and not others...

Here are the images for those who can't open them:

I took a little time before answering to do what you advised me Fab Camp. Unfortunately it doesn't work anymore... It seems that it is not a problem of version but of format conversion. Because if ME save a plan from solidworks it bothers me but if a colleague does it on his workstation with the same plan, it doesn't bother him... Similar! If I read my pdf that I saved from solidworks,  you can see the missing text on my computer but also those of my colleagues... conversely, the files that are saved by them, I can open them without taking anything... to understand nothing...

PS: This problem happened to me on SW 2017 I switched to the 2018 version thinking that it's just an AD on that got away with the excessive hacking I did but... I have the same problem on the 2018 version...

Hello

Maybe this information is in a layer for which impersion is disabled.

which makes them invisible when creating a PDF.

Hello, I had a problem maybe you are the same, when I had it printed with pdf creator it didn't work, I had to save under ... in pdf format.

You should try this hack sometimes... :)

Kind regards

Hello Pierre S,

to tell the truth, the text fields in the title block are all in "FORMAT" slap, what I don't understand is; why some of these fields are visible (like the date, the name of the creator, the name of the part, etc...) and others not... if there were still some that differed I don't say but here...

Hello G.,

Unfortunately, I don't use PDF creator but directly ADOBE READER PDF to simply check the plan once the recording is finished :s

I would nevertheless like to thank all the people who took the time to give me possible solutions, but can we say that I fell into a software flaw?... I hope not^^

In the hope of a miracle solution, I stay not far from this forum...

Hello Tesla,

If you don't have PDF Créator, I advise you to download it, at least to do a test.

It's a free software, which allows you to create pdfs from the print interface of any software. So logically, if when you print from SolidWorks all your texts appear, they should appear by selecting the Cretor PDF printer which appears in the list of printers once installed.

Kind regards

Hello FCT,

I tried with Créator, as expected, there were no more results... So I come to think that maybe there would be a function to check (or not) on solidworks that could fix this problem :s

Always waiting for a lead of ideas...

Kind regards

Tesla

Have you installed  it? if you have tried the manipulations I mentioned above that have worked for me but not for you ... Honestly, I don't see it. Maybe try to repair Solidworks, but I think it's a character conflict somewhere.

Hello, what are your versions of solid and office??? A print driver update may be??? put all the settings back to default and start the tests again, sometimes an option is hidden!?

Good luck

Hello Fab Camp.

I really followed all your advice and I also already repaired solidworks (after switching to SW 2018...) I thought that there was simply a known button to overcome this problem but obviously not...

Hello G.

I have the 2016 version of office and the 2018 version of SW (I've already fixed both ^^). For solidworks I managed to set all the default settings but for office there is no "default" function :s but there must surely be another problem like a version compatibility problem since the cartridge is a backup of old versions of solidworks no?...

Good news for me but maybe also for all those who might have the same problem with their software as well, we (a solidwoks technician) have found the solution...

It was in fact enough to change the font of the text field and put one that is installed on the computer (e.g. Arial) if this is not the case the recording .PDF is not done correctly.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this friend and I hope to help the next person who stumbles upon this incomprehensible computer subtlety.

Tesla.
