Why is my screws not loaded correctly?

Hello

This morning, I am taking up a project that dates back a couple of years.
On the SW side (2020), the only thing that has changed since the last time I created this project is that I switched it to sp5.

When opening this assembly, my screws which were M3 are in a much larger " empty " configuration, and the available configuration is M6... As if my M3 config had disappeared and it loads a default config. So where did my M3 config go? And how do I reassign it to my screws already in place without redoing everything?

" empty " config:

Thank you

EDIT: The worst thing is that during loading, the viewport displays M3.

But as soon as it finishes loading, it goes to " empty/default ". Whether I choose to rebuild or not.

Hello sylk,

We also encounter this bug or SW problem unless I am mistaken.
So here's what we've found to fix and fix it all in pictures.
1=>2025-10-17_094757
2=>Select your screw concerned
2025-10-17_094923
3=>Right-click and select see all constraints if it's not an error without forgetting to check all configurations if necessary
2025-10-17_094955
4=>
2025-10-17_095032
5=>
2025-10-17_095342

So we open our set concerned with bolts, and select see the " paper clip with an eye " constraints, and we edit the right configuration if it exists, without forgetting to check all the configurations of the set if necessary.
And at the same time it asks you to confirm to do this to all the screws of your assembly.
All this with Solidworks 2022 SP4.
That's a faster way.
Good luck.

Hello

On your first image, we can see that the location of the file is on C:ProgramData...

Didn't you have/don't you have your toolbox on a shared location?

If so, it's likely that when you switch to SP5, the default search location for toolbox components jumped and it will look for the files in the installation location and the original hardware files don't contain all the configs.

Check the settings here:

Hello @Silver_Surfer

Well done!

So, the toolbox was not on the network but I had forgotten an important detail, which came back to me thanks to your answer; it's that I had done the ASM on another PC, which has the toolbox in a different location from the new PC. And indeed when I compare the files of the target screw, the one on the old PC is much heavier (+500kb vs 165kb)! Which leads us to think that you are indeed right, the config is simply not in the original file.

So, I'm going to directly replace the original file with the old one.
I will confirm the result of the experiment when it is done.

Thank you!

Edit: After replacing the base file with the old one, my configs are back! :partying_face:
