Problem displaying parameters in CATIA V5

Hi all

I can't display the parameters in my tree, either to work on a part or on the assembly. I followed the following indications: https://www.lynkoa.com/forum/catia/%C3%A0-propos-des-options-daffichages-des-param%C3%A8tres-dans-catia, but it still doesn't work. Has anyone ever encountered this problem? I need to view these settings in particular so that I can use the Knowledge advisor workshop afterwards and create a rule on the parameters (I want to do something similar to this: https://apprendre-la-cao.com/catiav5-comment-inactiver-une-piece-grace-une-regle/ ) . Thanks in advance!

Amber.

Hello

Have you ever worked with user settings, if your files don't have one modify the options won't make them appear.

To check, use the "fx" icon and create for example a length parameter.

Tried to quit and then reopen CATIA.

Hello

Excuse me but I didn't understand your message "Have you ever worked with user settings, if your files don't have them modify the options won't make them appear."

If you have never created user settings, your files do not contain any, and as by default the CATIA installation (out of the box) does not display these settings.

To be sure that the modified options as indicated in the procedure allow the display you must be sure that you have created a parameter in your file

I have already modified parameters in the assembly (which I have renamed and/or added formulas). I also created a parameterization table from these.

These parameters are you who created them manually by "fx" or they are parameters created by CATIA (e.g. extrusion height, dimensional constraint of sketch, etc).

Edit: the parameters created by CATIA are not displayed under the "Parameters" node, the "Parameters" node only appears in a Part or an ASS if the user has created a user parameter by "fx".

So they were created by catia indeed. But what is a parameter created manually by this fact and how do you create it?

To create a user parameter, you must use the "fx" icon normally at the bottom left in the toolbars.

Then you choose from the drop-down list the type of parameter you want to create, the most useful ones are at the beginning and at the end of the list.

It's + practical for example to create:

User settings

Length, width, height of a parallelogram, then associate them by formulas with the CATIA parameters that define the parallelogram (sketch dimension, extrusion height).

so we don't have to look for them directly in the list.

Ok okay I understand better, thank you very much for your answer! So do you know how to create a multiple-choice string parameter, so that you can choose between two different bodies according to a certain specified value?

Hello

Watch this Tutorial.

You will have to replace the features with your Bodys in the formulas.

If you have KWA I would create a "Reaction" (on changing the string parameter).

Don't hesitate to come back or open a specific post.
