Problem with Featureworks

Hello everyone

I have downloaded CAD Parts from Michaud-Chailly but usually it opens directly in SW and therefore it offers me the automatic recognition of the functions.?

In the help it says to use Insert ==> FeatureWorks

To recognize functions interactively:

  1. Click Recognize Features tool_recognize_features.gif (Feature toolbar) or Insert > FeatureWorks > Recognize Features.
    The FeatureWorks PropertyManager appears.

But rusk I don't have this function even though I did set FeatureWorks to load at SW startup.

Clearly I can't find the function icon as indicated.

A little help would be welcome.

Go to Option/Customize/Control/Function/

and you'll find what you're looking for

Hello

 

This is resolved because I was not using the download file correctly. It was a false assembly. By using the part in the assembly as soon as it is opened, the system offers you the conversion automatically.

On the other hand, the icon of the function as you show it in your help remains inactive no matter what we do.

There is something that must escape me but it doesn't matter since I was able to convert without using it.

Featureworks works on parts

and allows you to rebuild the creation tree

And small detail, it only works with a premium license I think!!

no need for a premium G. license, the STD is enough.

Does it work with the standard license? In the help it is marked for Solidworks Professional or Solidworks Premium, see http://help.solidworks.com/2017/french/SolidWorks/fworks/c_disabling_enabling_featureworks.htm?verRedirect=1

Hello

It works now

In reality, the imported part is a kind of assembly that is made of a single body but presented as an assembled part.

I moved the icon from the assembly tab to the general tab for more security.

So either it offers automatic recognition when the room is opened, or if I say no to automatic recognition I can do it a posteriori with the icon indicated by GT22.

whether the issue has been resolved

You just have to open the answer that solved the problem

and click on the appropriate button
