Hull problem

Hi all

I thought I'd found the solution lately, but in the end I didn't.

I can't make a shell function with this part, I want a thickness of 2.5 towards the inside.

My trick was to cut off a little bit the tip that seemed to be in the way, but in the end it doesn't work.

If you can remove this thorn from me.

Note: the red sketch represents the outside of my piece.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards.

hello Samos024,

How can I download your piece for testing?

A+

To download, click on it, and save as

Hello Bart,

With a right click, I don't have this option (see attachment).

@echaumet

You have to press "Save target as"

Like others, you may need to re-enter the file extension to open it. At the time of the save-under replace "htm" with "sldprt" in the case of this question.

@Samos024

Is it possible to have a room step for those who are not in SW14?

if you want a 2.5 mm case

The outer skin radii of your parts must be greater than this value

So I advise you as in my previous answer on the other thread

to make your room with sharp angles

these angles can be chamfered later

you make your shell and then your internal and external rays

if you have a radius angle of 2mm inside + your thickness of 2.5

you should have a minimum of 4.5 outside corner radius

There you go.

Thank you

Gt22 I had tried your method and I just did it again and it doesn't work either, maybe I put it badly.

Kind regards.

The problem comes first and foremost from the peak. If you cut it, you can make a 0.1mm shell. Then you also have to play with your radius which must be of a value of less than 2.5mm.

Use Tools/Check, check "Minimum Bend Radius" and then click "Check". It tells you "Face (min. radius,1)". Click on this message and an arrow will tell you where the mini radius is.

Look at the attached file, there are 2 configs:

_Défaut, cut tip and 0.1mm shell

_2.5, cut tip and partly cut piece with 2.5mm shell

See my attached file for example

The shell function on the outside goes smoothly

The part is not quite identical since it is very quickly made and from memory but the principle is there

Hello Samos024,

By having a diamond point at the top of your piece, the shell will never fit as it is.

So you have to make your part first then the hull and then your interior and exterior leaves.

You also have the possibility to make the inner shape of your shell by surface and then make a surface shift, close this set of surfaces and then fill the volume with material.

Have a nice day.

Thank you all, I'll try.

Gt 22 the hull function works but outdoors I want it the other way around.

I'm going to test the surfaces, I admit I don't master it, but nothing like it to learn.

Kind regards

What does it change outside or inside

the goal is that you need a case

It's up to you to take the right refs to have the right exter / inter odds

now you're worrying about not much

Your diament tip prevents you from creating an inner shell

So it's up to you to gauge and judge what you have to do and what you want to do

+ in outer shell you can optimize your spokes nothing will block
