Hello I have a problem in solidworks 2014, the offset value box is grayed out and therefore I can't indicate a value... This is the third time that this has happened to me the only solution I found is to redo the function... Has this ever happened to anyone?

Hello
What is the SP of your SolidWorks? This may be a bug in the 2014 version fixed with SPs.
Let's see if you can upgrade to SP5.0.
Edit: to see the SP, go to ? / About SolidWorks

It happens to me too but apart from redoing the function as you do I haven't found a solution.

Hello
This is a bug listed at SolidWorks, under the number 900291:
Offset dimension value grey out in Extrude PropertyManager when 'Use shaded preview' option is disable after restart SW and reopen.
A priori it can be solved by disabling the shaded preview here:
"Use the shaded preview. You can rotate, translate, zoom, and set standard views while keeping the preview shaded."
http://help.solidworks.com/2012/french/SolidWorks/sldworks/HIDD_OPTIONS_PERFORMANCE.htm
Edit: or rather by activating the shaded preview!

What is your sketch based on? a face or a plane?
maybe the place where the sketch is created is a problem for SW
Thank you.PL

It's fine with the shaded preview but you have to turn it on for the offset to work

The best I think is to create plans and shift them
for your pocket since I think that's what it's all about
if you work in the middle plane with extruxion in 2 directions via your beam axis plane
So create beam axis plan
This type of part must be able to be done in welded construction
and then you will have your gusset, all you have to do is side
@+ ;-)

Yes, I added an edit to my answer to indicate that it should be activated and not disabled.
