Problem of prestressing anchor bolt on simulation

Hello

I try to calculate the load that the bolts take in my structure, but even if I change the parameters of the anchor bolts, the simulation crashes each time telling me that "An abnormal tensile preload of a bolt has been detected during the corrective prestressing cycle."

In prestressing I have 100n.m on bolts diameter 25, and I have 20 tons in vertical load (which should not pose too big problems in shear...)
If you have an idea... Thank you

Hello @clement-merlin

You forgot to put a "plane support" under the structure  to represent the ground. That's why the 20 tons were transferred to the bolts which are not sized for it. It is the floor that takes up all the load and not the bolts.

In addition, if I may say so :

-you put a tightening torque of 50Nm for a bolt which is a rabbit fart for Ø20 bolts (the torque is more like 200Nm)
- in your simulation, gravity is useless since you have opted for a force and not a mass (mass requires gravity: force does not, since the latter is comparable to a hydraulic cylinder that works in any direction in relation to the ground)
- Your bolts are useless for the simulation because you have a strictly vertical load, i.e. without radial forces. Your bolts are cushy
- it is not necessary to have a  "fixed" imposed displacement (which you have not put  ;-) ) on the side of the structure because it is the bolts that will manage this.
- in the imposed "anchor bolt" moves, it seems to me that you have mixed IS with Anglo-Saxon. Checked that you have the same values on the four bolts ;-)

Kind regards

Indeed I note all this, thank you very much :)
