Sketch selection problem on drawing

Hello

Let me explain:

I have a room, and I want to make a plan of it (so display the different dimensions etc...)

For the purposes of dimensioning, I create a sketch with a construction line, which I constrain tangent to my circle and parallel to the other line used for measurement.

So far, no particular problem, but when I want to put my rating, it's impossible to select this trait!

So I create a point at the intersection between my construction stroke and my circle, and it too, impossible to select it to be able to dimension!

I 'll leave it to you if you've ever had this problem or know the answer, thank you in advance.

Kind regards.

stupid question..... Did you double-click on your view to select it before making your sketch? Are you in the right view?

While you're at it, ask me if I opened solidworks, or it must be because my pc is not on, did I plug it in properly?

Of course I did, I wouldn't come to ask such a question if I hadn't checked that I was in the right sketch, that I was in the right view, that my line hadn't been drawn on another plane etc...

It's because I did the same thing as I used to it and it doesn't work as usual that I come here to seek help. And no stupid mistakes of the same type as what you are asking me, because we have already paid attention to this with my colleagues.

The problem must therefore come from a configuration or an option that I am not used to that has been modified; I suppose.

If you have other more relevant proposals, it would be likely to interest me.

Kind regards.

Hello

I find michel.janicot 's question not so stupid  and I'm not sure it's useful to answer him like you did... We've already seen much worse as a cause of so-called bugs...

Apart from that, it's a problem I haven't encountered yet, which version of SW are you on? can you post the plan and its 3D for analysis please?

Kind regards

Hello d.roger

He would have just removed the "stupid question... "I certainly would have been more concise, (even if I think I was already very nice in my answer.)

I'm currently using the 2018 version, and I'm going to join 2 captures, one (on the right) when I don't select the plan, you can see it, select in red, the sketch line that I can use to side, (know that I can't select it when I haven't selected the plan) and point with the blue arrows to the other sketch line, which comes out in a highlight when I pass over it (but which I can no longer select when I want to rib)

And on the second one (on the left), still the same line pointed by the same arrows of the same color, but here I have selected the plan (and can therefore make changes)

Hello

What odds do you want to get? The odds between the 2 construction features? Does the sketch come from your 3D component or do you do it in the drawing?

Kind regards

Hello jmsavoyat

I want to get the dimension between the non-selectable sketch stroke and another stroke parallel to the latter earlier in my sketch.

And the line has been made on the drawing, it doesn't come from the 3D component.

Hello again,

In fact, I suggest you delete your sketch in your drawing and recreate your 2 strokes. There is no reason why it should not work.

On the other hand, it is generally advisable to do as many functions and/or sketches as possible in your 3D model and to import the objects from the model into your drawing (but you know how to do that). If necessary , show the sketch containing your 2 lines.

(see the 2 methods in the attached files)

Kind regards

Precisely the problem is well and truly present, I can draw my sketch line, I can go over it it will be highlighted, (only if I have not selected my sketch plane) but as soon as I select my sketch plane, the line becomes unselectable, whether by snapping or for dimensioning, And the goal is not to put a controlling measurement, but only to display the one that already exists, as this one will be used for machining it must be precise, so readjustment to the normal of the view, and triple check, here it is impossible since the line is not selectable.

I tried to integrate the line into my 3D model to integrate it, but the latter remains unselectable.

I tried to create a simple dot at the junction of my stroke and my circle, but the latter becomes unselectable as soon as I constrain it with my stroke.

You can't do much with an image especially if you can't reproduce the problem so can you post your plan and your 3D either by pack and go or by zip file so that we can see if they have the same problem on our PCs?

Kind regards

Hello

You talk about a sketch plan, are you in 3D or in Drawing? It's not clear at all!

As @d.roger says, please post your files (piece+MeP) so that we can help you.

Kind regards
