Solidworks A0 Printing Problem - HP Designjet T520 36in PCL

ok, so let's see if it's the printer that's misconfigured or if it's Solidworks that's messing up. but already it seems more like a problem with the printer than with Solidworks.

See the line weights, how they are configured! Too small or too large can be misinterpreted by the printer.

Check if possible if you have the latest driver for your printer!

Have a good weekend

The line thicknesses are good, no worries. It's a graphic problem or something else I think...

I think the driver is up to date ... because it's really on the A0 that there is a problem ..

Where can we find the pilot's update? (sorry, I can't find it)

Maybe the solution would be to create a new A0 drawing template...?

Hello, on the HP website, you type the reference of your printer and you will be directly linked to the driver you need in the DRIVER tab.

after also trying to see on the HP forum if others didn't have a problem with the same model of printer!?

I just did a driver update search, and it tells me that this one is up to date.

After some research on the net, I think it might be a problem with computer memory / printer memory ...

Since the problem only appears with the A0, which are quite loaded with color, details and 3D view, it must come from the printer's memory which must be chosen by default.

On the other hand I can't find how to force it to respect the memory of the computer (or software) ....

To fix the problem, you have to go to the plotter options and set the Send bitmap task option to Enabled and the maximum resolution of the application to 300pp.

For us this solved the pb on 2 types of tracer.

Soidworks sends the prints in high quality compared to edrawing and the printer can be limited in memory and therefore comes out of white areas...

But the quality of 300pp is more than enough for my taste.

In the advanced options, I only have access to

- the maximum resolution of the application (auto, 300, 600 or 1200).

- App-managed resolution (on or off)

I have nothing else....

Go to 300pp already it can only improve, and also try it with resolution managed by the application (I don't know how it was displayed on our old plotter).

Unless the option is in another tab (it changes depending on the driver and especially the printer)

The option is may be named differently print as an image or other similar terms.

I'm already at 300pp.

And I just tried this morning to make the "app-managed resolution" option "enabled"...

Nothing done, always the same color problem that I miss ...

Can you take screenshots of your print settings (1 per tab) to see if an option could improve the thing?

Otherwise have you tried to update the driver as G. had said,

Another way to get the right driver in the printer's print preferences is to click on the services tab and then Download drivers and software.

For your information I'm also with an HP designjet t520 36in Plotter

Windows 10 driver version 6.9.2014

To check your driver see in printer property then about.

Unfortunately for you I don't see the option yet you have a more recent version of the driver.

The solution we used before finding these 2 options was to go through a pdf but no other solution... s

yes I don't really know what options to look for myself either....

So, I saved my plans in PDF and printed them afterwards ... by this means no printing problems. The files are 20 times lighter than my SW drawings.

Of course the problem comes from the transfer of the file between the PC and the plotter, but I don't know how to solve that..

Hello

The print settings in SW are often set to "Use settings of this document" by default, have you tried putting "Use system settings"?

Sincerely,

No, I haven't tried.

I'm going to give it a try.
