Equation problem

Hello

I want to create an equation in an assembly that takes the dimensions of a part that is part of a family of parts. This one is in purple and I can't click it when I'm writing my equation. How to do it?

In the attached example, I want to put the C dimension in my equation.

Hello

Maybe we can create a global variable that is equal to this value C to make the two-step equation.

Alternatively, we can also use equations directly in the part family because there may be conflicts or circular references if we use the part families + equations.

Hello

When writing your equation, if you double click on the C side it should increment in the equation?

It's not working???

No, it doesn't work on my purple ribs.

I have to click on the volume of my piece, I have to erase in my equation the name of the piece that is put and then I can click on a purple dimension.

Can you join the play?

Can't we create the equation in the family of parts?

That's what I proposed, Bart ;)

otherwise it's a hack but make a second rib on the one you want to  link and then link the second one to the equation... it works....
