I have a small problem with the material in my welded parts lists.
The material of welded constructions comes from the "MATERIAL" property and the sheet metal body material comes from the "Material" property (see image 1). So I can't automatically display the material for all bodies. Does anyone have a solution to change the "priority name" that the parts list calls for for the material?
My colleagues and I have had this recurring problem. We are on SW2017, and by doing the test with a 2018 version the problem disappeared. I had confirmation from an advisor that one of the versions of SW2018 had solved this problem. Was this problem solved (by mistake?) on one of the SPs and then came back..?
I'm following the conversation just in case!
Have a good day to you,
Mickaël K.
PS- MATERIAL and Material exist, but also material and MATERIAL sometimes, depending on the files and versions...
Thank you for your contribution. Do you know which service pack you did the test with? I already had this problem on the 2018 SP0 version and I went straight to SP5.
You have to modify the properties in the list of welded parts in the part file, body by body... to have only one or the other. In this case, in your case, I would keep the property that comes with the tubes, since it arrives via the sldlfp file of the profile.
Just to add an opinion on the subject because I actually had this problem, ... Now I'm on SW2018 SP4, so when this happens to me, it's better to delete the list of welded parts and redo it, sometimes I also have a mechanically welded which is made of stainless steel or steel parts, so there I go to the parts list and I assign the right material to the part concerned and it works like a thunder ... @+
Stefbeno, For my part, I keep the ownership of the tubes because it is the one that is in the largest quantity, then sometimes I pass the few crushed sheets manually...
A.R., Even if you take out the list and put back even a personalized one, the problem persists. I would have liked to have been able to make it so that in the subject column, we could apply one property or the other automatically depending on which one is filled. Obviously (and to my knowledge), it's not feasible.
Cyril, I'm currently on SW2017 SP5 and I had tested under the 2019 SP5 I think...
Stefbeno, Yes, that's what I'm doing now. It's not annoying and quite fast for small sets but when you have more than 100 pieces with several bodies, it gets a bit heavy.
A-R, Like Mickaël, I tried to delete the list and make a personalized list but nothing helps... I can apply different materials for some bodies, but there is always the "Material" or "MATERIAL" issue.
