"Windowing resources" problem

Hello

I've been having a problem for some time with a window that appears when I open a room in a new window^tre.

The message in question informs me that I lack resources to manage new windows.

I have a Z420 premium with a Quadro 4000 so I think I have some margin.

When I close everything and then restart everything goes well for a while but after 2 hours, same fight...

My hotline advises me to restart my station but rebooting every 2 hours is becoming chia...!

I only have outlook chrome open and a small assembly of 100MB... in a window. I also updated solidworks, graphics drivers, windows, increased the swap file to 5GB,... nothing. I had the same problem in v2013.

Has anyone ever had this problem, has he found a solution?

Thanks in advance

Hi @ rom's

See Control Panel/System and Security/Action Center/View Information and Performance

  • can you make a screenshot of information and performance tools

and click View and Print detailed performance and system information.

  • have you put the SW certified driver: http://www.solidworks.fr/sw/support/videocardtesting.html

Hello

We also use a Z420 and we don't have this problem.

Can you check, when your problem appears, the state of your memory in the resource monitor.

Good luck.

Hi GT

Before changing the driver, it was indeed the recommended driver but for the V2013 hence the reason to install a newer one.

I just saw that a 2014 has been released so in doubt I'm in the process of installing it.

I also send you the performance report if you sometimes see something.

RMOREL I attach the screenshot when the window appears (I forgot to put it with my question...)

Thanks guys

Indeed it doesn't come from your configuration, or if not many of us couldn't use SolidWorks...

Be careful when using the 2014 version of SolidWorks. It is currently only in SP0 version and it is best to wait for future service packs before using it intensively.

Also, if you convert your files, it will be impossible to open them with the 2013 version and access your creation tree.

Good luck...

this has nothing to do with the overall performance of the machine, it's a problem of Windows settings: by default 64 bit OS are set like 32 bit OS at the level of the maximum number of GDi objects.

You just have to modify the appropriate registry keys to no longer have this message:

Go to the Start menu, in the search box Type Regedit, then go to the next keys and set the maximum allowed value

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\GDIProcessHandleQuota  (value between: 256~65,536)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\USERProcessHandleQuota  (value between: 200~18,000)

It seems that FTHOMAS' answer worked!

You have to know this one...!

Thank you all and see you soon

Delighted that it worked Rom's, let's say that before finding it it took a lot of research, but as I had already encountered the case I thought it would work; o)
