Hello

In the attached pdf I explain the problems we encounter with bills of materials in a solidworks drawing.

I ask several questions to find out if certain behaviors are normal or if there are solutions or if it is a problem of method. The main topic is the creation of multi-level BOMs with balloon display problems when updating the structure or when creating.

For case n°3 (replacement of a set by its components), you have to play in the configuration properties of the OS to "hide" and use the promote option.
