Ownership of a room specific to each room

Hi all

I will try to explain my problem to you.

I make a simple  SW assembly with 3 pieces:

- 1 Case

- 2 identical headers (same part)

I would like to identify these two bases by a "J1" and by a "J2" that I would like to find in my nomenclature when drawing.

1 Question: Is this possible?

2 Question: Where should I enter the J1 and J2 information, I guess in the assembly on the respective parts, but at what level?  Or put this information elsewhere?

Thank you for your answers

Hello

You can use two separate but identical 3D configurations and make the custom property "J" appear in the nomenclature which will be the only difference between the two configurations in a new column.

See the help pages for the properties :

And to the columns in the nomenclatures:

Hello

It's doable, by creating 2 configuration of the part, then we edit the properties of each config (right click on the name of the config + "property") and we change the description by checking the box "use in the nomenclature" and that's it.

Each header will be named with the name entered in the config description.

Hello and thank you for your answers.

This still requires generating as many configurations as identical parts.

I thought there was an easier way.

Thank you in any case

I don't think there is anything simpler, except to create an empty column in the BOM and fill it in by hand!

No

Indeed, to make it simpler, I would have seen a field in the properties of the part that you could fill in when using it in an assembly and where you would put what you want.

In fact, what I wrote doesn't work...   :-(

In fact I still have a question; What's the point of having the same piece with different names??? If it's exactly the same, there's no point.

This is especially useful for identifying elements on a diagram.

Imagine you have 4 XYZ reference bases and on a diagram you identify them by D1 to D4.

The interest of doing this by configuration is that the bubbles of your drawing can be automatically called D1, J2, J3, J4  and not all N°13 if it is for example N°13

We also work with identical parts and that's why we created a database of standard elements. The part has a separate article number and plan, hence the same name in the nomenclature with different quantities depending on the assemblies.
