Qty in a BOM

Hello, lynkoeurs, how are you at the beginning of this week ?

I have a question for you about  quantities in a bill of materials. I have an assembly made up of parts and symmetrical parts. What I would like  is to force a quantity in the custom properties of the parts in such a way that when I make a bill of materials on a plan in the QTE  column is written  1+1 sym. Today I force him on the plan but I would like to master this information beforehand in order to limit an oversight.  I hope I was clear ?

May the force be with you.

My answer won't please you but I find it stupid to want to do what you want

A symmetrical part is different from the parent part

so we have to give it another name

and thus it becomes a unique piece

so in your quantity column must for my part contain only numbers

Have a nice day

Hi OBI WAN,

I think the easiest solution would be to create a "quantity" property in your room unless you already have one and create a bill of materials with a link pointing to it. The problem you may have later is that if you make a mistake in the quantities of the part, the nomenclature will also be wrong... 9:17 a.m.

@gt22, yes but my sheets are 100% identical and the goal is to limit the details on my plan. By doing  1+1 sym I gain the detail of one sheet, but if I have 50 sheets I gain the detail of 50 sheets.

@ac cobra 427 yes the single sheets must be automatically combined   but the sym sheets are forced hence my problem.

May the force be with you.

What are the differences of your sheet metal?

@gt22, here is an example, it is a hopper with a right and a left flank that is 100% symmetrical

may the force be with you.

@GT22, in general, it's a story of folds (left piece and right piece).

@Obi wan, I tend to agree with @GT22 .. within a certain limit. When I have this kind of case (and it's quite regular), I don't touch the nomenclature.

It's at the moment of the detail, I indicate the mark of the part, that of the symmetrical, their laser number and a small annotation saying "ATTENTION, a left and right part" in red.

See the attached example

yes but why this question, because I saw it in the presonalized properties, it must be useful for something?

May the force be with you.

So here, I admit my incompetence. I have never used this option

Hello

I think it 's not possible to display "1+1 sym" in the  nomenclature on its own without going through a macro.

The quantity option in the BOM is used for imported components that would represent the same component multiple times, for example.

Hello

After several searches I didn't find anything that could match  so I'll continue my hacks. I started the post by saying " how are you at the beginning of the week ", I'll end by saying have a good weekend.

May the force be with you.
