Hi all!

I work with SOLIDWORKS 2022 SP05.

I have big problems with the display, on the whole model.
but when I open the subsets, everything goes back to normal

Here's a screenshot of my display settings

For your information, a colleague on another position is also experiencing the problem.
This is the only project that is affected.

Thank you in advance for your hypotheses!

Hello
Are you sure you don't have stacked pieces? Poorly set or nested parts?

Hi @Le_Bidule

I'm sure of it!
If the answer had been so simple... but no, we have to struggle from time to time!

By the way, additional details:

  • I started from a project with the same problem
  • A newly created, problem-free part that was recently inserted into the assembly now has display issues

My hypothesis is about options for displaying the global assembly. But I don't know which ones.

Damn, I've had such artifacts before but I don't remember how, or if, I corrected them...

Talk about a constructive response :unamused:

Thank you for your participation in any case! :joy:

Which GPU and driver, and is it the same on the 2 stations?

I imagine that you have already tried to disable antialiasing options and other improved perfs.

Try seeing Draft Quality unchecked, and/or Use component color in LCS/LCA.

The 2 hardware configs:

  • AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3955WX 16-Cores
  • NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000
  • 64.0 GB

For the drivers:

  • I have version 556.18 of the NVIDIA drivers
  • my colleague has version 471.41

No better for the moment.
I try to restart SOLID between noon and two to apply the update of the perf options. improved

Hello, it seems to me that, indeed, this is a typical case of
" Improved graphics performance: "
image

In general, this goes back to normal when this option is disabled.
(associated with the correct driver of the graphics card and/or the installation of the patch proposed by Solidworks... Patch to be reinstalled after any changes to the driver).
The RTX 4000 card is eligible for the patch...

Re!
after restarting SOLID, it's better but still not crazy...

and anti aliasing only shifts the problem!
A weird area becomes normal and an area that was normal becomes weird.

And it's a new blowout for the French player!

Hi all

FYI, I re-checked the " Improved graphics performance" option
because I had a strong slowdown of the software.
I must be one of the 1% of cases for whom this option works as it should :joy:

otherwise I still have my initial problem... with or without the option

Hello @twathle

What if you enable RealView?

Otherwise try to open the assembly with SW rx and the safe mode in " emulate functions " mode to see if it comes from the driver, or in " ignore tools/options " mode to see if it's a question of parameters/options? This makes it possible to diagnose possible sources of bp!

Hi @Sylk,

When I activate Real View, it's still as imperfect but prettier :joy:

Hi @d_payen ,

It's true that I rarely think about doing that!
I'll try the next time I re-open the model

Hello

In my opinion you have typed exceeded the limit of complex assembly:

Do a ' performance review' and see if you have exceeded the set thresholds

Hi @froussel
I don't have these options enabled

I don't feel like I have a real performance gap either with or without...

Have you tried an export in parasolid format? Then reopening with SW

Try it out by pushing the quality options to the max, boxes and sliders, to the edge of the red zone and/or to the max.
Then everything at a minimum and unleashed if not better.

Another clue is the " definition " of the GPU in the registry:

What are your Renderer and Workarounds values at this address:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SolidWorks\SOLIDWORKS 2020\Performance\Graphics\Hardware\Current

As well as this one:
Computer\HKEY_USERS....\SOFTWARE\SolidWorks\SOLIDWORKS 2020\Performance\Graphics\Hardware\Current
