Which software?

the log is SolidWorks

I didn't know SW was in a rental ?

I think that as long as you pay your monthly payments

you can work with it and probably switch from a revision version when it arrives

but trapped since rental so not owner

and oblige to follow the evolutions = money++++++++++

Has renting become legal?

I know that there are partners or former partners of Dassault who offer this solution but generally the licenses are in their name and there is no question of mandatory upgrade. so to see the rental contract if there is one

I have a friend who did this for 800 a month .... for a standard version made the accounts;)

On the other hand, there is a 3-year credit formula at axemble at least it was offered at the beginning of last year.

Apart from the financial aspect, if it's for occasional use, it's impossible to open or make any changes to the files between 2 rentals. It also takes a few days between the application for the licence and its actual start-up. So possible loss of responsiveness.

If you have a series of rentals, you have to update the licenses regularly.
