Adding colors to Dead Solids files in CATIA and especially saving the added colors

Hello

I got an old digital model that had been made in SolidWorks in the 3DEXperience. Apparently, the 3DExperience did a pretty good import: I got an assembly and in each part I have dead solids (cube with a red lightning bolt, it must be step).

On the other hand, I wanted to add colors to my model. Obviously, the colors I add are not saved.

Apparently, when searching on the net, you apparently need special step files if you want to be able to keep the colors).

Do you know how I can make the colors added in CATIA (here in the 3DX but I guess this should be true with the old versions of V5 as well) are saved?

P.S: I have the model in Solidworks 2010 format and I imported it into the 3Dx.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello

Under Solidworks : file / saved as / Step (select AP214).

This is the STEP format to keep the colors set in SW.

I don't have 3DX but if the SW STEP was transformed into a CATIA file when importing it into 3DX (CATPart file not 3DXML) and then saved, the operation should be as under CATIA , Right click / Property on the body or surfaces.  It is possible that as under CATIA it is better to do the manipulation from the part file rather than from the assembly.

Great Franck. This works. Thank you for your help.
