Slowdown Welded Construction

Hi all

For a few weeks now, I've had a slowdown in the new welded constructions I create.
Let me explain: when I create a new part (3D sketch + angles + tube) even a very simple one, my part "trains", it takes a very long time to react for modifications. Going up the creation tree (with the hand and the blue line) or editing a mechanically welded element function becomes very long (between 8 and 10 seconds!!!).
On the other hand, when I open an old file (4-5 months, much heavier), I don't have this problem, the responsiveness is normal.

I had SLW2011 SP05, I switched to SLW2012 SP01 I still see the same defect. Which becomes very problematic to work!!

If you have an idea...
Thank you in advance to all!
Damien

Hello

Is Realview enabled?

It's really not easy to manage this kind of problem which can come from the equipment, the software, the drivers....

Try to update your graphics card drivers + reboot to start with.

After that, maybe an install - re-install can also do good.

If it doesn't change, we may have to look at the hardware side.

Good luck

Hello

In a normal room no problem, only in welded construction?

Are your files on server or local?

Isn't the hard drive full?

Hello

Agree with everything that has already been said. Also look in your general SW (Backup/Recovery) options, if you save in a single directory that directory may contain a lot of files. We probably need to clean up.

Kind regards

Hello

I agree with the 2 previous answers, I'll just put a caveat to Jose-accessa ' s proposal to update the graphics card drivers: it's better to put the latest SolidWorks certified drivers available here:

http://www.solidworks.fr/sw/support/videocardtesting.html

Rather than the latest ones available on the card retailer's website.

 TA Config:
-HP elitebook 8560p
-Windows 7
-SLW2012 SP01
- Space available on the HDD
- Update of the pilots if it didn't come from that!

Are you sure you have a solidworks certified graphics card

If you have an Elite Book 8560p laptop

you don't have a certified card to my knowledge

so it bugs

and you're still lucky that you can still work with SW

to answer GT22

it's my config

I've been working with this PC for 1 year without problems on the different versions of SLW2011.

It's only since a few weeks that it "bugs", I'll look at all your advice...

you need an 8560 W

there you have a pro graphics card preferably nvidea to my taste

SW certified Nvidea drivers are updated + often

@+ ;-)

It's a pro PC provided by my company so I don't have much choice :-(

What I don't understand is why from one day to the next, I have a slowdown on new parts and not on old ones?!

Local work

Take a good look at the PC specif for solidworks everything is said there

you need a pro open GL graphics card
