Search for gas thread data

Hello

With my thread gauge tool I think I have measured the thread of the valve outlet of a standard gas cylinder this,  14G R1/2 - 7/8.

If someone can decipher this sequence for me, I'm interested, but I'd like to know how to make a thread representation corresponding to this data.

Thanking you in advance, and wishing you a good start to the school year,

Kind regards,

Hello

it seems to me that 14 is the number of threads  G or also called BSP  R is the tapered outer (male) thread and then it's 1/2"  and for the 7-8 I don't know. See attached link

Thanks, this helps me to confirm what I am trying to understand intuitively (in the WW table), I have corrected the syntax of 7/8 whose understanding leaves me in the dark.

I rather think that your designation specifies a thread range, the pitch of 14 threads per inch being valid for 1/2" fittings; 5/8"; 3/4" and 7/8" conical GAS.

that's exactly what "PhilippeB" says

Hello and happy back-to-school,

My problem is the tapered thread representation, I tried to model a conical shape to put my thread representation in, but without success.

If anyone has an idea for me,...
