Hello
This is possible with Adobe Reader as long as the files are in the same folder:
With Adobe Reader XI (11), you have to go to the Edit menu > Advanced Search (Edit: or CTRL + SHIFT + F thanks to Tomalam and remrem for the precision)
Then choose "In all PDF documents in" and choose the folder (also works on the network).
There are a few checkboxes and then "Show more options" at the bottom.
Edit: remember to check the "Include comments" box because most people who want to edit a PDF only add a comment (or annotation) in reality!
And by typing Ctrl+F you can directly search for the desired word and bring you back to the menu that Lucas evokes
+1 to Lucas.
I didn't even know it was possible and even less so with Adobe reader.
We get smarter with Lynkoa... ;-)
Edit:
In Tomalam:
It's SHIFT + Ctrl + F for advanced search.
Otherwise Ctrl + F is just in the current document.
There is also the FileSeek software (free as standard).
Allows you to search for specific characters or strings in almost any file type (without having to open them).
Searches may include:
The name of the files of course
But also the content for certain types of files (pdf, office...)
