Replace Model in Drawing

Hi all
In a drawing, is it possible to use the "replace model" function without Solidworks "blowing up all the dimensions and annotations?

Hello thomas.bossonnet,
When replacing the model, indeed all the annotations related to the replaced model will appear in brown color. so normally they are reusable, either by cutting/pasting it on the desired view, or if there is an arrow to this annotation, take the end of the arrow and point it where you want it ...
There you go, good luck, keep us informed.

If the part replacing the original part is based on the 1st with one or 2 different ribs, no worries, the ribs will follow.
If it's a dead body from a step or a totally different part, the name of face, edge differs and solidworks can't hang up.
Same thing if the 2 parts are identical in shape but not 3d drawing with the same function or in the same planes.

Experience if the 2 pieces are too different and all the ribs are brown. It's often faster to delete and re-list everything.
If only 2-3 ribs do not find a point, then it is easier to hang up the ribs with the AR method.
Basically, you have to see what seems the fastest for your case.

Hello sbadenis, thomas.bossonnet,
Indeed it all depends on the fastest way in this case, if it's for one or two dimensions, attach your dimensions, otherwise the best is to restart your rating automatically by "object of the model", it's healthier for your MEP.
Have a nice day.
