Thank you

You have to play with several tricks but provided you have the objects in the form of SolidWorks volumes I have never tried on STEP but I will give you a test.

1°) the coloring of the volumes and then making them translucent
But how insufficient!
2°) You have to color the faces you are interested in so that the transparency is more or less dark. For example, you can color that the inside of a hole, a chamfer, a fillet, etc...
3°) if you have an ASM you can color each subset and in addition hide or show them according to the part of the instructions you are writing.

I'm going to make you a little tutorial because it's too long to explain in a post. I haven't tested what it looks like in the MEP.

Kind regards

PS; as I see that you do a lot and all kinds of docs: your company would be better off investing in SolidWorks composer which is compatible with Catia (to be checked)

Thank you very much for your efforts.

Hello@bouc.karikab

I promised you a tutorial, so I made it in video.

I did it in a hurry: so the comments are not perfect, be indulgent.

If you miss something, we will answer your questions of course ;-))

Kind regards
