Rendering in the solidworks workspace

Hello

I've been working with solidworks for a while now (solidworks premium 2012 SP0)

I notice that in many videos that I find on the internet the rendering of the parts in the workspace is much more realistic than at home, why?

I'm not talking about PhotoView 360, but about the basic rendering when working on a part or assembly.

Anyone have an explanation?

thank you in advance,

Francis

Hello

Can you give us a screen print of your rendering as well as a part so we can see the difference????

It's related to graphics card, regardless of the version of SolidWorks

Probably your graphics card or your settings.

What's your setup? (PC, graphics card etc...)

Re

my graphics card is a Radeon HD 5800 Series with a lot of memory.

Attached are two images:

the first one from a demo on a video (SW01) and the second one from my post...

As you can see, there is a very big difference in rendering!

Thank you for your help.

Is realview enabled?

There should be no realView on this type of card.

What do you have as a processor

Some processors have an integrated graphics card that can be compatible with SolidWorks

give + ref on your pc proc ram etc....

Your first image is a rendering

Lighting also makes rooms + real

Hello

For your rendering you will find all the elements at this address:

http://help.solidworks.com/2012/French/SolidWorks/sldworks/RealView.htm

Hello

As already said by my colleagues, the first image is made from realview, with the calculated shadows and ambient occlusion that you don't have in 2012. If these features are not available on your computer, it is because your graphics card does not support it.

Edit: by the way, when you look at your graphics card it's a Gamer card not a professional 3D card so nothing surprising

After that, I know that you can force the real view on cards not tested by solidworks.

I've never done it, but apparently it works.

To be a little more precise, the real view is a function that can be activated in solidworks normally that if you have an NVIDIA QUADRO style Pro card, I don't know the equivalent at AMD... Otherwise you don't have access to this function.

If you don't have a pro card, you can divert the throttling by using the "realhack" file as mentioned @Bart in his link, there are other links in his also quite a bit leading you to the Grabcad site...

Hi all

First of all, thank you for all these answers.

Indeed my PC is not originally dedicated to 3D and I got the graphics card on one of the children's PC! ...

In PC, a complete screenshot of the references of what makes up my PC.

For the graphics card, which one do you recommend and at what budget

Thank you.

Francis

I don't know all the models, but the Nvidia quadro 2000 is realview compatible

You can find them in the region of 150 euros.

See afterwards if it is compatible with your position.

Even a Quadro 1000 is RealView compatible, but that said personally I don't use it more than that just from time to time to have a quick overview because it takes resources and the more complex your assembly is, the more it will bring back ...:) Otherwise I find that you have very little RAM, 4 GB for design and rendering it really seems to me to be the minimum stict ...

Hello

And thank you all for your answers,

while waiting to invest in a compatible graphics card I installed "RealHack" and it works.
