Hello
I work on SolidWorks Photoview 360.
On all the renderings I make, I have plastic-style reflections.
We found with the Axemble Hotline after reviewing the lights and environments , that these were the appearances of the rooms.
In the Appearance Edit, Illumination tab , you need to set the reflection to 0.
Except that in the assembly for which I want a realistic rendering, I have more than 200 different appearances !
Anyone know a solution to change all appearances?
I've tried to change several appearances by recording a macro, but the macro is desperately empty!
If someone knows the APIs needed to loop over all the appearances of an assembly and modify the parameters, that would be perfect!
Thanks in advance!

Hello
me when I have this problem,
I remove all appearances piece by piece.
Then in my assembly, I select the parts that will look the same and so on.
So I have an appearance for multiple pieces.
I hope I have been useful.
Kind regards.

Hello Lucas;
If my memory is still as good and provided that you are also registered on the AVENAO 3D portal (specialized SW).
There is a tutorial on this issue.
I'll go and have a look at it hoping to find this one.

if you want rendering worthy of the name, go through another log, among other modes, which is what most people who are looking for a very nice SW rendering do is not made for that

In general all the renderings are done in the assembly and not parts/parts
See also this 31 mm link in English of course

1) So we have to remove the 200 appearances one by one? It can be a solution, but it seems a bit long.
2) I looked quickly and I couldn't find this tutorial, do you have a link?
3) Thank you, but given the little rendering we do (maybe 5 per year), I don't think we're going to reverse, the SoldiWorks rendering suits us, except for the details!
Strange, when editing my answer, the names are well above each personal answer...

@ Lucas
I think you won't have a choice
Rebuild your assembly without any rendering
and make your renderings in your assembly
which can be understood, the angles of luminous flux being in theory in the same place
your independent pieces that already have their own rendering
were probably made on faces that don't correspond to the same angle as on your assembly

or you can also apply an appearance to the parts in the assembly on top of their original appearances

A bit late, but a solution that can be quite quick and convenient.
1 - On a component (part) you put the appearance as you wish.
2 - Once this is done, by right-clicking, you copy the appearance.
3 - In the assembly, you select all the components whose appearance needs to change.
4 - Once everything is selected, right click and you paste the previously copied appearance.
And there you have it
