Electrical harness manufacturing diagrams

Hi all

I'm a little bit out of CAD. But we need to draw up plans for the manufacture of our electrical harnesses.

We have electrical diagrams that we make with Microsoft Visio.

However, I would like to obtain advice, examples, software proposals for the realization of manufacturing diagrams of our electrical harnesses.

Our business sector is the design and manufacture of mobile agricultural machinery.

Thank you in advance.

On my special machines I make my design plans using solidworks for the 3D of the cable with connector, then in the drawing j insert the wiring/welding drawings of the cable color sockets using draftsight in 2D.

edit: the more precise the 3D of the connectors the easier it is for the representation

Hello

Have you looked at SolidWorks Electrical, maybe that's what you need.

I guess you make harnesses to connect your various electrical components of your machines, and from the little I've seen on SolidWorks Electrical, it knows how to handle that.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your answers.

@Coyote: I know SolidWorks Electrical, we are presented with great demonstrations at the kickoff. But given the price of a SolidWorks Electrical license and not to mention the necessary training, it's not even an option.

if it's only for the visual of your beams

Why not do it via piping routing

if you have the desired version

Sorry gt22, but in my question I talk about "manufacturing diagrams of our electrical harnesses". In no way visual...

See the topic here

if you already have your schema created in Microsoft Visio
for your fab diagram
if you have the ins and outs and the cable passages
that you have positioned your connector inserts as well as your connectors in the right place
nothing prevents you from doing them in 3 D via the automatic routing (flexible tube) to be created in a library
which will allow you to count his said cables and create your beams
and thus create your harnesses

Is it a bit like that? (see image)

@Gerald: Yes, that's right, but for a complete tractor!

@remrem ... it was a piece of an A0

so it's done with draft for the diagram that I paste in the MEP and solidworks for the 3D representation

thus we obtain a correspondence

Thank you all.

So we went back to our video plans by combining them with the 3D connectors like Gerald's example.

See you.
