Simplification sketching 2D import dxf

Hello

I'm looking to simplify a 2D sketch from a dxf file with a lot of points and segments.

Is there a simple solution with Solidworks 2015?

Hello

there is a "Repair Sketch" function that is used to see the points that are too close to that many centimeters.

After for splines, there is the "simplify spline" function

Do you have your file that I take a look at?

Here is the Solidworks file on which I imported

chassis.sldprt

Do you have the dxf, I'm under 2014...

Here is

plan_chassis.dxf

Oh, yes!

Holy dxf indeed^^

With Solidworks it's not worth it.

You should try with another processing software, or take another model.

At least that's what I think.

Sorry.

See this tutorial

The best I think is to take a screenshot via areas, save them as images and convert these images into sketches

@+;-))

I thought about it last night^^

When importing the dxf, there is an option "merge points closest to"

By entering the correct value, it should remove quite a few strokes and points.

Hello

What do you want to do with your file?

Cling to it to design subframes and bodywork?

If this is the case, it is clear that you should not keep all the acr segments, you will seriously weigh down your file. So you have to delete, maybe smooth (tools\spline stool\adjust) in SolidWorks or go through DraftSight first to have 2D tools to clean up the starting plane.

Yes, it's about drawing a body on it.

I had understood from the reseller Axemble that there was no problem with Solidworks to process any type of 2D file...

Thank you for your answers.

Re

Who said otherwise? Yes, SolidWorks handles 2D (cleaning, resurfacing, ....) but a pure 2D software will handle it even better, hence the idea of DraftSight which is free.

Hello

It exists like Solid Edge as a 2D software (free at that) where you will have all the tools to simplify your sketch. We use this software in our business for these kinds of things.

Kind regards.
