I am calling on you because I need to test the vibrations and resistance of a system. I have a rolling base with a mast and I need to know how much it will move and vibrate with an acceleration and deceleration of the rolling base.
Here is a simplified diagram of my problem.
I'm thinking of using SolidWorks, but I'm not sure if it can solve my problem. So I wanted to have your opinion about the software to use and the way to do the calculation... I've already used SolidWorks simulation for the resistance calculation, but now I don't know how to go about it at all
Depending on the accelerations and deceleration, you have to deduce the inertial forces that apply to your set. After which, you have to run it under simulation to know the frequencies of reasoning and whether or not you destroy your set. But the frequencies of reasoning can only be obtained with a 3D model that is as faithful as possible.
Then you can approach your problem in another way. The bending at the end of the mast, simply due to the inertia during acceleration / braking. But it's not vibration.
I think that this last approach fits your needs more. From there to give you the calculation method for bending as a function of speed... humhum... And Solid Works, I don't know if it can do it.
