Xpress SDW Simulation Failed

Hello everyone,

I need help with my graduation project please. In fact, I wanted to do a force simulation on a structure (in joining), so I converted my assembly to format. SLDPRT in order to perform the simulation on SimulationXpress. Then, when I open my . SLDPRT and I try the "Combine" function in order to combine all the volume bodies in one body, I can't do that. There are pieces that refuse to be combined. and the simulation on simulationXpress is only done on a single room. No other solutions to make my assembly as a single block (a single piece)?? . Thank you for your support please.

Urgent please. Thank you in advance.

The basic problem is the combination of volumes.
If SW refuses, it means that there is a tangency between the volumes, so we must create a function of adding matter where there is contact.

Hello @majdicatalonian

something escapes me!

Why would you want to combine all the volume bodies in a single body?

For the simulation, if your ASM is transformed into a PART, you must be able to perform the simulation on the entire part. All you need is a normal ASM on the one hand and a Coin version of this ASM without the same name to find your way around.

Which version of Solidworks do you have because the simulation in Xpress is very limited.

I'll let @m.blt  answer you l

Kind regards

Simu Xpress can only work on one body.
Unfortunately, even if you save the asm as a part and then make a fusion of the bodies is not necessarily enough, especially in the case where you have mechanically welded parts where the bodies are tangent, and the tangencies Sw does not like them.

Thank you for your responsiveness.

In fact, I tried the solution proposed by @Stefbeno (adding the material in the unconnected places because of tangent assembly) and it works.

But the question that arises, does this added material not distort the results of the simulation?
