SLDASM received by email without the parts / usable?

Hello. A customer sent me an assembly file only.
The question is: how to exploit it?
-I can open it with edrawig.
-I can open it in read-only mode with solidworks as long as I choose this mode:

but I would of course like to save it in SLDPRT to put it in an assembly.

I noticed that from edrawing, you can save it in STL and open it with SW 2025. but it's still laborious.

How do you do it?
Have a good start to the new school year

For me you won't be able to do much with it, except reading and taking sides, since as soon as you try to open it it's empty.

The easiest way is to ask your customer to export the whole thing (assembly + parts) to you via a Pack and go.
Otherwise ask your client to export it to you, and send you the part.

Then he sends you one or the other of the solutions.

:laughing:  The classic assembly without parts
It's like the " oops! It's better with the attachment...  emails...
The only case where an assembly alone is usable as a whole is when the parts are registered as virtual components (they must still be saved in the assembly).

Thank you for your answers.
it's still frustrating to view in SW but not be able to save under .sldprt
