SmartConverter - export STEP

Hi all!

I'm looking to export all the configurations of a room in STEP.
Here are my options:

  • I checked " Create a document for each configuration " ==> export option
  • I checked " Increment the file if the final document already exists" ==> location of the generated files
  • The naming convention is " FILE NAME" - " NAME OF THE ACTIVE CONFIGURATION".

Despite everything, I have the following error message:
" The name of the exported file is empty, check the rules Unable to convert the file "

I tried to change the naming convention to a fixed value " test " but it doesn't solve the problem.

HELP!

Additional question:
how to name the file with properties OF THE FILE?

My document contains a "DN" property that I can't find in the file naming field.

After testing I don't encounter this problem and the export is done very well. (V2022 2.1)
Here is the example with my acorn nut:

For the 2nd question:

But I didn't manage to recover the property related to the configuration (retrieves the one of the room = empty)
And if I fill in a " TEST " property in the room, same message as you:

It seems that it is a bug, I invite you to make a ticket via the support.

Hello

Which version do you have?

The naming issue should be fixed on the latest 2023 SP4 version.

Kind regards

Hello @fmarchand,

I have solidworks 2022 SP5 standard
and myCADtools 2023 SP4

FYI I made a ticket
I am waiting to be contacted
I will keep you informed

in any case thank you for your ideas

Hi all!

a little feedback on the subject,
the problem was solved by resetting the MyCADTOOLS settings (who knows why but it works like that!)

For the record, it is not necessary to reset everything via the dedicated button in the app's interface.
The support advises rather to rename the folder

"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Visiativ\myCADtools 2023\BatchConverter"
==>
"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Visiativ\myCADtools 2023\BatchConverter V2"

The app can't find its parameter path anymore so recreate a blank one!

As for naming with SW properties, Batchconverter does not read the content of documents!
You have to modify the file in this folder by hand:
"C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\myCADtools\myCADpassport"
