Solidworks Composer: View in Viewport

When I import a Solidworks assembly into the Composer, it does not show up in the viewport. Import profiles are specified.

Do you know how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance

Hello

Can you send a picture?

Maybe the assembly is lighter in Solidworks?

You have to be in resolved mode to see the volumes of SW shares

Hello Yannick,

Thank you for your answer. I did the test with a lighter assembly and the same solved assembly.

The result is identical, I can't check the boxes in compose to make the assembly appear. (see Photo)

If you have other leads, I'm interested :)

Kind regards

Hello Arthur,

I encountered the same problem on large assemblies, I found a solution and it works for me. On SW, you have to uncheck the use of the complex assembly mode in "System Options - Assemblies".

Since the import on SW Composer is done correctly, no more display errors.

Hoping it works for you too.

Kind regards

Hello Vincent,

Thank you for this lead.

So I opened my assembly (solved). I unchecked the "complex assembly mode" box, restarted Composer specifying the import profile "SolidWorks (default)" and opened my assembly via Composer also specifying the imported profile "SolidWorks (default)".

Result: Still the same, my assembly doesn't display (see photo), I only have the nomenclature with for each component a "Dummy" equivalence in the composer tree.

I also tried to import another part to compose. This one appears and I notice that the icon in the tree is different from the pieces that are not displayed (see photo). Maybe this will give you an idea to help me...

Thank you for your answer even if for the moment I'm stuck :)

Kind regards

And if you stupidly tick the boxes in front of each piece

Test to see

Hello gt22,

Thanks for this lead, I tried, nothing happens...

Thank you gt22 for this tutorial.

However, it doesn't solve the display problem I'm having.

I can indeed display the properties when I have inserted another part but my assembly and the parts that originally compose it are not visible and it is impossible for me to activate them...

Thank you anyway for your ideas to get me out of this mess^^

Kind regards

Which version of SW and composer are you on?

Uncheck in Options/Assemblies:

  • 1.Use Complex Assembly Mode
  • 2. Use Large Design Management
  • 3.Automatically load lightweight parts

Very important, save the SW  assembly in a resolved state. If EPDM well extract and archive.

I'm under the 2017 version of SW and compose.

The boxes you told me are well unchecked (see photo).

The results are always the same...

I raise a question about the light and resolved mode. When I open my assembly in resolved, save it, close everything, and reopen it, it is automatically in light mode (unless I change the setting each time when I open it).

Thank you

Hello

To disable  loading of components in the lightweight state:

  1. Click Options  (Standard toolbar) or Tools > Options.
  2. On the System Options tab , select Performance.
  3. Under Assemblies, deselect Automatically Load Lightweight Components.
  4.  Click OK.

Hello Yannick,

I hope you had a good weekend.

I changed the setting in "performance". So, I reloaded my assembly in composer and it pretty much works...

I have all my pieces except one complete and one that is partially displayed... These 2 parts are the basis of the imported parts, this may have an impact on the display in composer.

I hope that this progress is not temporary...

Thank you for your help

Hello Arthur,

Surface parts are not visualized in Composer.

The problem may come from there.

Can you put a screenshot of your Solidworks asm and compose?

Cdlt

Hello Yannick,

Indeed, imported parts that are in surface do not appear in Composer.

It's okay, I managed to import the entire assembly.

Thank you again for your precious help.

Kind regards

You're welcome.

Have a nice day
