Hello
I have a small problem, I have a file that crashes SW when I close it.
I tried on another post, but I have the same problem. I tried to remove functions to find the one that makes the crash but no way to find it.
the file is in PJ.
Have you ever had a similar problem? what should I try to avoid crashing SW? it's SW2014
Thank you
Arnaud

Hello, a save under crashes too? Otherwise you have to redesign the room...
Already had a problem like this and it came from the equations.
Otherwise it also crashes in our country.

There may be some interesting info in the Windows Event Viewer

I've never used the Windows Event Viewer
What should I do with it?

For the Event Viewer:
http://windows.microsoft.com/fr-fr/windows/open-event-viewer
Otherwise test my tutorial to reset the SolidWorks settings (we can go back later), to find out if it comes from the configuration of the workstation:

Hello
Is it an imported file or a 100% SolidWorks part? Or a mixed with an imported body base?
I don't have SW14, but with eDrawing you can see some flaws, especially on the top of the box: a line wanders around without volume (see image).
Try saving this piece in STEP and reopening it with SW. If the problem persists, it could be due to a geometry that SW has not handled properly.

You can also try to remove all external references:
http://help.solidworks.com/2012/French/SolidWorks/sldworks/HIDD_LIST_EXTREFS.htm
Or to use SolidWorks RX (maybe there will be some interesting info):

At home, I can save it, save it as, export it etc... without any worries
On the other hand, when the file is closed. Crashing Sw

Is this the SP5 version of SolidWorks 2014?
Because there is a bug of this type that has been fixed!

I only had this problem recently, it didn't happen before.
Yes it's a 100% solid file, created entirely by me, without external references.
I can save it without any problem too, it's when I close the room that SW crashes
I'm going to look at the Windows Event Viewer and SolidWorks RX

I'm on SP4.0, I'm going to do the update then
Ditto I'm in SP4 possible that SP5 improves the crash.
SW2015 also crashes when closing the file.

Hello
I updated SW2014, in SP5.0 but I still have the problem.
Regarding the other solutions, I haven't found the one that corrects this problem ...
Any other ideas?
Thanks again
As the problem is repeated on a single file and on several installations (SW14 at your site, SW15 at @jmsavoyat), either your file is corrupted, or it is your geometry that is causing problems.
So if the file is corrupted: you can do it again!
If you want to check your geometry, do a step of your part as proposed yesterday.

Putting the part in STEP solves the problems...
I'll have to do it again if I understand correctly
Thank you
