Hi all
I would like to know if it is possible or not to center a .stl file on a sketch?
Because when I import the file, and I sketch, it is shifted to the right of the origin.
Thank you.
Kind regards.

Hello
Have you done function recognition to have an SLDPRT file or do you use the native STL?
In fact, in the tree you just have to click on "release" your room then wanders everywhere, then center the room on the origin with the 3 native planes of the room.
Kind regards
I'm using a basic .stl file.
After in the tree, I didn't "liberate".
I managed if you want to move the stl file with "body-move" or I made a sketch with a circle and axis, but the problem is that the .stl is not centered.
Or to move the body(s) (insert, surface, move, copy)
I'm trying to find a solution, I don't really know if I should open the .stl in volume or surface. Knowing that once the .stl is centered, I don't touch it anymore!
I use the .stl if you want to sketch with it afterwards.

In solidworks the file does not move around the screen with your mouse like a part that would have no constraints.
I don't have SW on hand until tonight but maybe @sbadenis will tell me or I'm making the mistake with STL. In solidworks normally you can redefine the position, the reference frame, etc, etc...
Kind regards
@Zozo_mp: I think you're wrong about the work environment. The STL is an imported body in a part, not a part in an assembly.
I managed to do something,
I did a sketch + body-move on front view & a sketch + body move on the right view and I played with offsets.
It looks + or - like what I wanted so there you go. (difficult because it's a special piece)
The room is + or - centered, so well... I deal with it!
With surface move/copy you can either move your part in x, y or z according to sides or according to constraints.
And a little tip in SW2018 if you move a body with move copy with constraints and you delete the function, the body remains where you had constrained it! and therefore no additional function!
