SolidWorks Student

Hello

I recently acquired the student version of SolidWorks (2015).

I don't understand why I don't have a way to download the API SDK to develop Add-Ins (The main purpose of my purchase).

Do you have an idea to solve my problem?

Thank you.

Hello

I have a question; You must have bought it? If so, how much if it's not too indiscreet?

Shipping costs included (Because yes, he sends a DVD from the USA), with administration costs it makes me 200€. (But you must also prove that you are a student by entering your institution + Scanned Student Card).

I had a trick to get SW in free student version..

On the site at least, I only had this possibility.

And if not, a solution for my problem?

Hello.

When you read the terms of the contract, you realize that you are indeed limited by Solidworks with the student version (which seems logical)

http://www.solidworks.fr/sw/education/6585_FRA_HTML.htm

Among other things, this part in Article 3:

You may not modify or create derivative works of the Software and you may not analyze the software for the purpose of competing with DS SolidWorks. The Software contains trade secrets of DS SolidWorks and its licensors (such as its structure, organization, and code).

However, for me, when you use the API, it's like creating a derivative product. In short, I'm afraid that with the student version you don't have the right to develop Add-Ins

Or am I talking nonsense, people? (yes I'm a rebel and still use the ^!)

Hello

APIs are well included:

Here is the procedure for installing them:

 http://help.solidworks.com/2015/english/api/sldworksapiprogguide/GettingStarted/SolidWorks_API_Getting_Started_Overview.htm

The SOLIDWORKS API SDK contains all of the functionality needed to develop SOLIDWORKS API applications.

To install the SOLIDWORKS API SDK:

  • Copy the SOLIDWORKS API SDK installer from the apisdk folder on the installation media to a location on your system. Run the installer.

Thank you for your answers,

but as you can see on this screenshot, I don't have access to "Downloads and Update".

In addition to my answer, here are the attached files.

And just before I move the subject to solved,

I don't see the solidworks model in "Visual Studio Community 2015", should I use another software? Thank you.
