Solidworks

Hello, I have a big big problem on solidworks, when I want to extrude a circle, it tells me that it can't do that because the part is not closed. only I can't see where it's not closed!! Isn't there a way for the program to show me the exact location of the problem? Has anyone ever had this problem?

It's for a very urgent project that I have to go to school quickly, if someone knew how to help me I would be very very grateful! thank you in advance

Hello

There is the "Repair Sketch" function that allows you to search for intervals.

Simply set the interval to 1, 2, 3 mm and click on the magnifying glass

See attached image.

Edit: if you can't find the function, go to Tools/Sketch Tools/Repair Sketch.

Hi @ me juliaa

your sketches are she black

if it's not black you lack constraints

So put constraints to do this, click on your features and see which ones you can move

see among others this tutorial to learn SolidWorks

http://www.lynkoa.com/tutos/3d/apprendre-les-bases-solidworks

as said @ bart see the perimeter of your sketch with the G key (magnifying glass)

it may be that you are also 2 lines on top of each other that you can't see well

Hello

It may also be that you made a line or other small sketch next to it without realizing it, or your circle is not closed, it also depends on how you made it if you took the circle function or if you cut it, there are plenty of possibilities for this type of defect.

Keep us informed.

Also possible that you have two circles one on top of the other. Something that can happen when you convert your entity.

Possibly tried in the menu, tools, sketching tools, check the sketch for the function

In a case mentioned by @Mathieu ANGER, if you have a closed outline (circle) + an open contour that wanders, at the time of extrusion you can use the last option of the extrusion function "Selected contours" by clicking in the circle you are interested in.

If you can't, it's because your outline is open, so follow the instructions in @bart.

Hello

I know that sometimes, on Catia, it could simply be a point that was not converted into a construction element.

I don't have the impression that it can be possible on SW, but when this kind of problem happens to me, the first thing I check is that my construction elements are marked as such.

See you soon!
