Optical element cutting subcontractor?

Hello

A question going out of the field of CAD but remaining mechanical, I have to have an optical element made, which comes in the form of a glass of 0.5mm thickness and a minimum diameter of 10mm. I have the material (UV/IR filter) and am looking to have it cut.

For the moment I have only found cutting capacities of Ø25.4mm, or rectangular cutouts.

Have you ever had the opportunity to have this kind of thing done (in France or elsewhere), or even to do it yourself in machining or otherwise?

Thank you

Is it the Ø and not the thickness that is stuck?

Because for me in laser you can make any shape!

What city are you in? Nantes, right?

I know that I can't make a hole smaller in diameter than the thickness.

The rest is doable I think.

@Tomalam, it's a bit of both, the glass would be thicker (like 3mm), I would have a subcontractor, but in such a thin way, they can't, too fragile.

Laser cutting? Do you have an address? What I'm afraid of is that it will attack the UV/IR surface coating, and my colleague in optics is not going to be happy!!

@Bart, yes in Nantes, but the location is not a problem, a subcontractor would be better french, but it is not a vital constraint.

I would have gone more on the waterjet cut.

For resistance, we will have to make a test.

What if you stack all your glasses to have a greater thickness? The water jet can cut 8cm of glass without any problem.

Yes, more water jet than laser, and no I don't have an address.

And you@Bart do you have a waterjet address? Do you know a box that cuts glass?

Well, thank you guys, with all this I'll be able to consult.

@Bart, 3-4 months, the machine will already be in production! And will have made little ones! ;)

Okay, now I have another big problem, which I put as the best answer? It's really ch.... this new scale! You both helped me!

You're in luck.

I couldn't order anything... I've been in the top contributors for a year, and all I have are my eyes to cry about..... :/

That's it, he's playing it for us:D

I think @s.b. is in the same situation, with a bigger handicap: he's not on SolidWorks.

For a bottle, it can be arranged @Bart, I was delivered;) But the same, you have to come and look for it! :D
