Solidworks 2018 SP3 Stability

Hello

We are going to change the solidworks version currently to the 2015 sp5 version, we are hesitating to migrate to solidworks 2017 sp5 or directly to solidworks 2018 sp3.

During our last migration to solidworks 2015 we had a lot of stability problems, not wanting to reproduce this problem I wanted to have your feedback on the 2018 sp3 version

Thanks in advance

Hello

For my part I went from the 2014 to the 2018, having had problems with the 2015 and 2016 (in particular the take-home composition which is the basis of all projects with us) and frankly not disappointed, apart from the new selection inversion for the symmetry constraint (back to the 2008-2009 version central plane then the 2 to be symmetrical)

After I work with small assemblies so it's fine, even if I've already had crashes in the 2018 version (not since the sp3) but with SW we're used to it, you have to record regularly;) (I don't like the automatic backup management)

Same, we switched to Soliworks 2018 SP3 at the end of last week, no particular problems, good stability (Formerly Solidworks 2017 SP5), I also find it lighter (less resource-intensive) but I may be getting some ideas!

Good overall feedback from our users as well.

Yes, I confirm, 2015 is not a good vintage.

may the force be with you.

Ok thank you for your feedback on your pc config when changing versions did you have any hardware problems

Here are our configurations:

32giga ram

nvidia quadro M4000 card

Intel Xeon CPU E5-1650 3.5GHz

Hello

We moved to 2018 SP3. It often crashes when we record in .step.

Pretty much we have the same configuration except that we run in Quadro K2000 and Xeon E5-1620 3.6GHz

My graphics card is not certified for WIN10+SW2018 but yours must be more recent.

But since we bought these second-hand PCs to upgrade to the 2018 I can't compare.

(Formerly we were in 2014 with win7)
