Surface: Create a surface tangent to 2 other surfaces

Hi all

New on this site, here I am because I am having a small problem with the Solidworks Surface module.

I would like to create a smoothed surface tangent to the 2 surfaces visible below:

When I try to create my smooth surface:

 - Either I select as profiles the 2 sketches that were used to create its surfaces, but then I can't select "tangent to the face" as the start/end constraint:

 - Or I select the edges of my surfaces as profiles. I can then select "tangent to the face", but on the other hand it is impossible to have my complete surface...

Any idea to achieve my goals?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

Hello

Try the surface boundary or surface filled or extruded surface function. ..

if you could like I see on your 2nd image and if it suits you

Make the 1/4 circle

you just have to close

and create a sketch via the profile of your 1/4 circle

and redo the smoothing via the guide curve

Hello

Click on the edge and "select the tangency" or "the loop", so you will have all your edges and the possibility to impose your tangencies no need for sketches.

Checked via t edge selection that all your edge is well selected

Thank you all for your feedback.

Ac cobra: You can't get anything right with the boundary surface, filled surface, or extruded surface functions.

GT22: This is just an example, but my part is actually more complex, and does not have symmetries. If I have to do each surface one by one, I'm not there.

Coyote: I don't see when I can click on the edge and "select tangency". I put the part in PJ (Solidworks 2014). If someone succeeds, I am willing to see the method to achieve it.

Thanks in advance,

Eric

Hello

As much for me in this function you have to use the "Selection maanger" to take all the edges.

Either right-click on the screen or right-click in the profile selection area to launch it, then click an edge and select all the tangencies.

Vios image I'm in 2016.

Hello

I have just closed your room; d you edit the Surface-Extrusion1 function and you give it a direction 2 of 10mm then you exit the function then you click on this function so that you see the 10mm then you double click on it and you delete the 10mm and put = then you click on the plane and there the 50 will appear and you click on it and you will have this in the box where there was the dimension ="D1@Plan1" Then you leave and then the room will close. See Attachment

If you want to have your part with the Surface-Smoothed function and the option tangent to the face, that's what you are doing, but you have to create 4 Surface-Smoothing function for the 4 corners, then to close you will have to use the Surface-Filled function and select the 4 edges of the opening and redo the operation also 4x and then your part will be finished

Hello

Maybe I didn't understand everything but it seems to me that the problem is quite simple. A boundary surface function must be suitable by choosing the sketches as a whole as curves. See attached video.

Have a nice day

Great, thank you all!

It works perfectly with the boundary surface function following Pierre Mihailovic's method.

Problem solved!
